Bishop Barron Good News Conference

The 2024 Good News Conference stood as a beacon of hope and renewal, drawing hundreds to its profound exploration of faith, mercy, and joy. Hosted in an atmosphere rich with spiritual and intellectual engagement, this year’s event was marked by impactful keynote speeches, intimate breakout sessions, and unique special exhibits. Here’s a glimpse into the moments that defined this transformative weekend.

Special Exhibits: A Space for Reflection and Prayer

One of the highlights of the conference was the Hallow Prayer Room, a dedicated space for attendees seeking personal reflection or communal prayer. Sponsored by the Hallow app, this room offered a sanctuary equipped with guided meditations, Bible stories, and serene music. It provided a respite from the bustling schedule, allowing participants to connect deeply with their faith in a tranquil setting.

The Museum of the Bible also invited guests to behold a rare and illuminated "Pocket Bible" that was created in 1250. Exceptionally beautiful and in excellent condition, the Pocket Bible holds a fascinating history, produced for a student or professor at the University of Paris around the time that St. Thomas Aquinas began teaching there. Dr. Brian Hyland, Senior Curator at the museum, hosted a breakout session that highlighted a selection of beautifully decorated pages. The session explored the Book of Wisdom, specifically Wisdom 11:21- 12:11 that emphasizes the theme of God's mercy.
