Day 1: Wednesday, September 17 - Departure
Depart Kona, HI for the mainland via overnight flights. Group flight options will be available in December 2024.
Day 2: Thursday, September 18 - Arrive Mainland | Depart for Rome, Italy
Depart for Rome, Italy via overnight flights.
Day 3: Friday, September 19 - Arrival in Rome | Assisi
Benvenuti a Roma! Meet your professional Italian tour manager, then board your private motor coach and transfer to Assisi, the City of Peace, enjoying lunch on your own enroute. Celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and see the famous Porziuncola where the Franciscan order began. Gather for a welcome dinner and overnight in Assisi.
Day 4: Saturday, September 20 - Assisi
Celebrate a morning Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis, followed by guided visits of the Basilica and the Church of St. Clare to see the cross that spoke to St. Francis and led him to a life of piety. Visit the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis to learn about the sanctified life of this newly beatified millennial. Enjoy a group dinner and overnight in Assisi.
Day 5: Sunday, September 21 - Loreto | Lanciano
This morning, depart for Loreto, where you will visit the Marian Shrine of Loreto and the Holy House of Nazareth. See the beautiful Madonna of Loreto where more than 50 popes have traveled on pilgrimage. Celebrate Mass and continue to the famous 8th century Eucharistic Miracle in the Church of St. Francis, where the bread and wine is preserved in the form of flesh and blood. Gather for a group dinner and overnight in Lanciano.
Day 6: Monday, September 22 - Manoppello | Rome
After breakfast, depart for the Eternal City, stopping in Manoppello to see the Holy Veil of Manoppello in the Santuario del Volto Santo. Celebrate Mass, continuing to Rome for a visit to the Basilica of St. Lawrence Outside the Walls. Finally, check in to your hotel for the next six nights. Enjoy a group dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 7: Tuesday, September 23 - Major Basilicas of Rome | Pizza Making Dinner
Begin the day by walking through the Holy Doors of the Major Basilicas of Rome, beginning with a visit to St. Mary Major to celebrate Mass. Continue to St. John in Lateran, the Cathedral of Rome. Nearby, see the Church of the Holy Stairs and the Basilica of the Holy Cross, which houses the relics of the Passion. This evening, learn the traditional art of making pizza with a cooking class, followed by dinner. Overnight in Rome.
Day 8: Wednesday, September 24 - Papal Audience | Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel
This morning, attend the Papal Audience with Pope Francis (pending the Holy Father’s schedule), followed by a guided tour of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, where you will view some of the most inspiring works of art. Celebrate Mass near the Vatican. The remainder of the day is free to explore the city with a walking tour of the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona yours to enjoy dinner on your own. Overnight in Rome.
Day 9: Thursday, September 25 - St. Peter's Basilica | Ancient Rome
Celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, with time to pray at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel before a guided tour of the Basilica. Then, make the procession through the Holy Doors at St. Peter’s Basilica. Embark on a guided Ancient Rome tour that includes the Colosseum (inside visit), Capitol Hill, and the Roman Forum. Gather for a group dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 10: Friday, September 26 - St. Patrick's Church | Scavi Tour
Celebrate a morning Mass at the American Parish in Rome, St. Patrick’s Church. Then, partake in the Scavi Tour – the ancient Roman excavations below the Basilica of St. Peter’s culminating at the tomb of St. Peter (pending availability). Take time for personal prayer at the Basilica. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to explore the Eternal City. Dinner on your own and overnight in Rome.
Day 11: Saturday, September 27 - St. Paul Outside the Walls Basilica
After breakfast, depart for the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. Celebrate Mass before processing through the Holy Doors. Then, visit the Sanctuary Divino Amore, or the Shrine of Our Lady of Divine Love. Enjoy your last day in Rome with a special farewell dinner along the Appian Way. Overnight in Rome.
Day 11: Sunday, September 28 - Return to USA
This morning, check-out of the hotel and depart for the Rome airport and your return flights to Hawaii.
